Why did we start a new church?
God has placed a burden on our hearts to continue His movement in Lakewood of helping those far from Him find their way back to their Creator.
What kind of church are you trying to be?
We dream of a church that is outward focused, bible based and culturally relevant. Our Sunday morning large group worship experiences involve high doses of creativity and imagination, include excellent musicians, provide engaging teaching towards life change and are peppered with authenticity and transparency. Our Sunday morning time also includes an age appropriate children’s worship experience focussed on the same “Big Idea” covered by the adults to build into families.
Throughout the week, we have smaller groups called LifeGroups that have sprung up with people that attend Forefront on Sunday morning but do life together the rest of the time. Our LifeGroups seek to implement the mission:
- Love God - seeing what God is doing in our lives, both through scripture, relationships, and circumstances
- Love Others - investing in the lives of those in the small group (they will know you are My followers by the way you love one another) as well as seeking ways for the small group to reach into the relational circles of influence that make up the small group
- Change the World - the LifeGroups adopt a missional attitude both corporately (by adopting missional endeavors for the LifeGroup to be a part of at the host school) as well as supporting the mission work of the individuals in the group.
Above all, we seek to be a simple church with simple practices. At this time, we have five primary, laser focused ministries: corporate worship, Children’s ministries, Student Ministries, Small Groups and Missions.
